Session One:
Share with someone what your favorite emotions and feelings are. Tell someone what makes you feel happy, sad, mad, surprised, and scared. Draw a picture of your favorite emotion and feeling. Share your picture with a family member. Practice a calm down strategy of: Talk it Out. Say out loud in a calm voice, "I feel mad." Who will you talk with the next time you feel mad?

Session Two:
We can get mad at ourselves for making mistakes or messing up. We can also get mad at others for doing things we do not like. Share with someone what makes you mad at home. What do you do to calm down at home? Practice a calm down strategy of: Squeeze a Pillow or Hug a Stuffed Animal.

Session Three:
Share with someone what makes you feel mad at school. What do you do at school to calm down? Practice a calm down strategy of: Play with Playdough, Clay, or Slime. Ask your parents if you can make home-made Playdough or Slime to use at home.

Session Four:
Practice a calm down strategy of: Take 3 Deep Breaths. Place your hands on your belly to feel your belly move in and out. Pretend you are breathing in pretty smelling flowers & blowing out a candle flame each time you take a deep breath at a slow pace. 
Drawing and Coloring Activity: Listen to the Book, Sanctuary, below. Draw your Special Place you like to relax and calm yourself. You will need a blank piece of paper, crayons, markers, pencil to do this activity. Share with a family member your "Special Place" drawing when you finish.

Session Five:
Practice a calm down strategy of: Think of a peaceful place or thing. Close your eyes while sitting in a comfortable position.  Think of a peaceful place or thing that relaxes you and calms you down when you feel mad. Examples of peaceful places are: tree house, your bedroom, beanbag, couch, beach, hiking in the woods, etc. 
Drawing and Coloring Activity: Gather the following materials: writing board, blank piece of paper, crayons/pencil.  Draw and color your peaceful place or thing that helps you relax.  When the drawing is completed, share your drawing with a student or family member and explain what your peaceful place or thing.  Take turns sharing with each other your peaceful place or thing together.  Take your drawing home, if you are at school.

Session Six:
Share with someone your favorite way to calm down at home and school. Practice a calm down strategy of: Color or Draw a Picture. Find a coloring book, blank paper, crayons, markers, or colored pencils. Color or draw a picture of your favorite place you like to visit. Put your masterpiece on your refrigerator for your family to see!

Session Seven:
Practice a calm down strategy of: Count to Ten (or a hundred!).  Count slowly and give your mind and body time to relax when you are feeling mad. Ask a family member to count with you. Watch the following INSIDE OUT books and video clips about feelings. Who is your favorite INSIDE OUT character and why?  Share your answers with a family member.  

Drawing / Coloring Activity:

Find a blank paper and crayons/markers/pencil. Draw yourself counting ten things on the paper. Draw ten different things you are counting. Share your drawing with a family member.

Session Eight:

Session Nine:

Open up the following activity sheets and print them out.  Try to complete them with a family member.  You will need a pencil and crayons/colored pencils/markers.

Turtle Trick Bingo Game:

Print out the Turtle Trick Bingo cards from the link below. Use pennies for markers.  For each turn, have a family member randomly call out a turtle trick step.  Play Bingo with the pennies and see who fills in an entire column or row to win!
